Castings Day 8: Feb 7 2011

Castings: 5 castings
Start: 11am
End: 5:30pm

Sometimes castings are located close to one another and your day looks a little like...

All of the castings are located close by. Easy to go from one to the other to the next.

And other days castings look like this...

These castings are all over the map (no pun intended).

On top of being on the east side, then the west side, then North side, then south side, upside, downside, ocean floor, the moon, and candy mountain. They are also really difficult to travel to. Having to transfer to 3 different subways just to get to them.

Well today was one of those days.

Stupid Question of the Day

Previously I wrote a post on the Top 10 dumbest Questions that men ask me on the street, and I have a new one!

The Stupid Question of the day is...

Are you a basketball player?

I think that this question may take the cake for the stupidest question, Because anyone with half a brain could take one look at me and see that the answer is clearly, no.

Let's take a quick look at my body type.

My arms are so small they practically don't exist.

I have zero shoulder muscle and even less chest muscle.

Honestly, I'd probably get sore dribbling a basketball.

NOW let's take a look at some WNBA players.

These women are JACKED.

Both of my biceps don't even make up one of theirs.

Actually, both of my biceps AND triceps combined probably don't even make up one of their toe muscles.

That woman in the middle is an animal!

I can't do a push up. I can't even do a girl push up. Matter of fact, I get sore using 3lb weights, no joke.

These woman EAT 3lb weights and do one handed push ups in their sleep.

LET'S RECAP!

Look at my arms. Now look at their arms.

There's really no comparison.

And really no logical thought process behind asking me if I'm a basketball player.

Time!

Today was another crazy busy day. You know how in certain games, such as pictionary, or other timed games the idea is to race the clock. You try to draw and guess a word before the hour glass runs out. Then, as the last grain of sand falls, you yell "TIME!"

That's how today felt.

When I finished all of the castings, I literally felt like yelling time.

And, it was another scorching day. 95 degrees.

Lunch: Lunch did not exist today. I ate two power bars through out the day.

End: 530pm

September Begins

Such a busy busy day! I had 13 castings in 97 degree weather.

So far the week has had a slow start, but by the looks of tomorrow, things are only getting started!

Monday was a really easy day. Only 3 castings, nice weather, and I got to eat lunch!

Tuesday, August 31st

Castings: 4 castings

Start: 930am

Lunch: 3pm

End: 2pm

The Madness Begins

With the start of Fashion Week just around the corner, the madness of castings has begun. Fashion Week is probably THE busiest time for a model. It consists of running around to castings all day long, trying to look you're best and find time to eat and go to the bathroom. I'm going to document my days leading up to and through out Fashion Week. Here's a look into the life of a Model during the madness of the shows!

Thursday, August 26 2010
Location: New York City
Castings: 8 Castings
Start Time: 11am
Lunch: 230pm. When I chugged a smoothie while running between castings. It was all I had time for.
End Time: 5pm

Friday, August 27 2010
Location: New York City
Castings: 6 Castings
Start Time: 10am
Lunch: 130pm. I actually got 20 mins to sit and eat!
End Time: 4pm
