Alice + Olivia

Another one of my favorite shows this season was Alice + Olivia. This show was actually a presentation. The stage we stood on was decorated with a cool set, similar to Candela.
There was a piano, a staircase, benches, a large curtain, an old tv, old record players, the whole works.
Here's a picture of the side of the stage I wasn't on.

And here's a picture from my side of the stage.

I'm underneath the staircase.
Here's just me.

One of the best parts was the benches. Through out the presentation the models got to switch off sitting on the various benches and other props near by.
Too many times I've heard of girls passing out during presentations. I think every client should provide an opportunity to sit for a few minutes, and a drink and snack. No designer wants their presentation to be remembered as "the show a girl passed out and cracked her head open at". Believe me, that happens.

Anyway, this was more like a huge party than a show really.
There were a tonnnn of guests. The most I've ever seen at a fashion show.
There was an open bar and THREE musical performances.

Here's a video, enjoyyy! =]

Venexiana

Venexiana was one of my favorite shows from this season. The designer, Kati Stern, is really exciting to work with. She's very passionate and knows exactly what she wants. Her collection was beautiful. The colors and movement in the dresses were inspiring. I was honestly very sad when this show was over. I didn't want it to end!

The Venexiana show was at Lincoln Center.
The make-up was heavy on the eye. Which I love. It was a black eye that extended far put with gold and teal Incorporated. With some of the heaviest fake eye lashes I've ever worn.
The hair was a loose up-do with some crimped pieces hanging down. It was very Renaissance inspired.

I got to wear 3 different dresses.
The first was a short blue strapless dress.

Second I wore a longer orange strapless dress.

The thrid and last dress I wore was a beautiful black one shoulder with flowery blue and gold detailing.

And I leave you with a video of the show =]

One Day you're in. And the next day, you're out.

Thursday morning was the filming for Project Runways finale at Lincoln Center.
If you've been following the show, you know that there's no were near the finale 3 yet. In fact there were 10 designers. So all 10 created lines that walked in the tents as to not give away who the finalists really are. Everyone created an awesome line to present in Lincoln Center!

The call time on Thursday for Project Runway was 5am! I woke up at 4am that morning and at one point I was so tired I literally forgot my name.

After that I ran to do the Hair and Make-up test for the Venexiana show.

Then I ran to my next show...
Candela.

Candela had a presentation in the Jane Hotel.
The room itself had neat decorating and then the stage they built was even cooler.
The theme seem to be Western Native American feel to it.
The stage had a tee pee, wooden crates and barrels, animal furs, and the music really tied it all together.
Lucky for me, after such a long day, I got to sit on a barrel.

Here's a few shots of the stage design!

And here are a few from the fitting! =]

more shows to come.....

Stupid Question of the Day

Previously I wrote a post on the Top 10 dumbest Questions that men ask me on the street, and I have a new one!

The Stupid Question of the day is...
Are you a basketball player?

I think that this question may take the cake for the stupidest question, Because anyone with half a brain could take one look at me and see that the answer is clearly, no.

Let's take a quick look at my body type.

My arms are so small they practically don't exist.
I have zero shoulder muscle and even less chest muscle.
Honestly, I'd probably get sore dribbling a basketball.

NOW let's take a look at some WNBA players.

These women are JACKED.
Both of my biceps don't even make up one of theirs.
Actually, both of my biceps AND triceps combined probably don't even make up one of their toe muscles.
That woman in the middle is an animal!

I can't do a push up. I can't even do a girl push up. Matter of fact, I get sore using 3lb weights, no joke.
These woman EAT 3lb weights and do one handed push ups in their sleep.

LET'S RECAP!

Look at my arms. Now look at their arms.

There's really no comparison.
And really no logical thought process behind asking me if I'm a basketball player.

Time!

Today was another crazy busy day. You know how in certain games, such as pictionary, or other timed games the idea is to race the clock. You try to draw and guess a word before the hour glass runs out. Then, as the last grain of sand falls, you yell "TIME!"
That's how today felt.
When I finished all of the castings, I literally felt like yelling time.
And, it was another scorching day. 95 degrees.
Here's my log for today =]
